The company was formed for the specific purpose of redeveloping the old Asian Plaza site into a modern vibrant mixed-use commercial center that will be second to none. The managing partner and site owner is Chinn Investments, LLC, a company that consists of 4 generations of a local family that began with Wilce and Mitsuko Shiomi after their return to Seattle from Tule Lake relocation camp in the early 1940s. Managing members of Chinn Investments, LLC, are son-in-law Dennis L. Chinn, PhD, JD, and grandsons Nathan S. Chinn, and Brian S. Chinn, PhD. Our goal as the site owner is to enlist the expertise of the very best development professionals in building a project that will represent our vision and be true to the history and traditions of Seattle’s International District and Little Saigon. Our team members reflect that commitment.
Founded in 1975, HEWITT has been responsible for some of the Seattle region’s most influential projects, including Bell Harbor and the Port Headquarters Building; Belltown Court;Harbor Steps, and the Sound Transit Light Rail system with stations at SeaTac Airport,Tukwila, Capitol Hill, Roosevelt and Northgate.

David Hewitt is HEWITT’s principal and founder. Mr. Hewitt’s commitment to the Seattle region is demonstrated in the many public and private spaces he has designed to create vibrant communities throughout the area. Bringing his perspective as a passionate architect and citizen, Mr. Hewitt focusses on communicating the key issues and opportunities involved in selecting among project alternatives. He prides himself on remaining attuned to the client’s goals and values as he responds with insight and creativity to each set of circumstances. A cum laude graduate of the University of Washington’s Department of Architecture and a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, Mr. Hewitt is also the recipient of the American Institute of Architects’ Seattle Medal, an honor that recognizes his distinguished lifetime contributions to design.
Mr. Hewitt’s personal involvement in the concept and design of the new Asian Plaza will insure that the project design meets his firm’s history and tradition of excellence.
Chinn Construction, LLC, a general construction company headquartered in Redmond, Washington, will serve as the Project’s general contractor. With a 10-year operating history, Chinn Construction has served as general contractor on commercial, mixed -use and large-scale tenant improvement projects in Washington and Arizona. Chinn Construction’s staff includes professionals with backgrounds in construction, architecture and structural engineering.
Kevin Chinn is the sole owner of the company of Chinn Construction, LLC. He is directly responsible for the company’s day-to-day operations. Mr. Chinn prides himself on the company’s ability to work closely with developers and other service providers with the aim of consistently exceeding client expectations for quality, value and responsiveness
